BIPC

Training courses for professionals working in peacebuilding, complex crisis management and humanitarian aid

The Barcelona International Peace Center’s (BIPC) main activity is an international specialized training program designed to meet the extensive learning needs of civilian personnel and to equip them with the skills they need to engage in field operations around the world.

To offer the highest possible quality, the BIPC works in conjunction with international organizations and academic institutions that are leaders in their fields. The BIPC has thus carved out a distinctive niche as a knowledge hub for professionals in peacebuilding and humanitarian action to ensure quality training geared to the realities of the field.

All BIPC courses take place in Sant Felip Neri House, a modernist tower surrounded by gardens in Sarrià district in the northern part of the city.

Since 2009, the BIPC hosts two training courses per year related to DDR: the global course on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration of former combatants led by the Folke Bernadotte Academy and the Community Based (Re)Integration and Security (CBRS) training course for practitioners led by Transition International from the Netherlands.

The BIPC has been a member of the IDDRTG since 2011 and hosted the 8th Annual Meeting in 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.
