Dr Richard Bowd is a conflict transformation and peacebuilding specialist with over 15 years of programming, analysis and research experience in the areas of conflict, fragility and peace.
This has covered a range of thematic areas including: conflict transformation and peacebuilding; conflict sensitivity and Do No Harm (DNH) approaches; refugee, IDP and former combatant return and reintegration; gender, peace and security; civil society strengthening; peace education; armed gang mediation; community security, armed violence reduction, and reconciliation in fragile states.
Dr Bowd has advised governments, UN agencies, ADB, INGO’s and NGO’s, and retains a number of advisory and academic positions. In addition, he has published numerous articles, policy briefs and books across these thematic areas and has presented at international conferences.
He is currently a founding director with Betula Innovations, a consultancy company specialising in the provision of bespoke, agile solutions to complex problems grounded in a robust evidence base.
